The problems and solutions of the use of electric air heaters.

Mar 17, 2021

Maybe you will have a lot of problems in the process of using electric air heaters, especially for users who use them for the first time, they may be unfamiliar with how to deal with these problems.

The editor below will select a few representative questions and explain them to you, hoping to help you.

1. The electric heater cannot start normally.

Don’t panic if you encounter this problem. First, check whether the working power supply is normal. After confirming that the power supply is normal, check further from the following aspects.

(1) Whether the setting of the temperature display regulator is correct.

(2) Whether the operating position of each change-over switch is correct, and whether the interlocking contact with the blower or air intake device is closed.

(3) Whether the operation command signal is normal.

(4) Whether the wiring of the control circuit is loose or falling off.

2. What should I do if an outlet circuit breaker trips during operation?

If the circuit breaker trips during operation, immediately check whether there is a short circuit of the heating pipe in the circuit. If there is a short circuit in the heating tube, the short-circuit heating tube should be removed. In a sense, a small amount of damage to the heating tube will not affect the normal operation and heating temperature of the heater.

3. The power indicator does not light up, the digital display does not work, and the voltmeter has no indication.

At this time, we need to check whether the air switch is closed and whether the control circuit is intact.

4. The window display value of the temperature display regulator is abnormal

(1) Check whether the temperature measuring element and control circuit is open or short-circuited.

(2) Check whether the temperature measuring element is damaged.

(3) Check whether the temperature display regulator is damaged.

5. Three-phase current unbalance

(1) Check whether the three-phase load is symmetrical

(2) Use a dual-trace oscilloscope to observe the waveform phase of the trigger pulse and the triggered SCR voltage, and whether the trigger pulse can be shifted by 120°.

(3) Open the air heater protective cover, use a multimeter to check whether a single electric heating element is open, and then replace it with a special matching wrench. Be careful not to damage the rubber gasket during replacement.

I believe everyone is already familiar with the prone faults and the methods to deal with them. You will not be in a hurry in similar situations, and you will be able to deal with them freely. For faults that cannot be rectified by yourself, you must ask skilled technicians to solve them.
